DIY Cooling Blueberry Facial Scrub

Make your own facial scrub!

This facial scrub is a quick and effect way to supply your skin with nutrients, exfoliate away dead skin and clear break outs at the start! It is easy to make and is suitable for most skin types!

For this facial scrub all you need is good quality Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, Refined Granular Sugar and Blueberries!

Please note that this facial scrub is only suitable for once-off use and should be refrigerated as it not stay fresh for long. For long-term use opt for a naturally-formulated facial scrub with a suitable and safe preservative.

Coconut Oil provides the skin with moisture and may also decrease inflammation. It has a comedogenic rating of 4 though, so if you have oily or ache-prone skin then be sure to adjust the ratio in your facial scrub so that you don't land up with clogged pores (more about this later).

Avocado Oil is high in both Vitamin E and Vitamin C and provides skin with Oleic acid which helps the skin to lock in moisture.

Blueberries sooth skin inflammation and are packed with loads of antioxidants and nutrients!

INGREDIENTS:

1 TBS Coconut Oil

1 TBS Avocado Oil

4 TBS Granular Sugar

10 Large Ripe Blueberries

Mix the ingredients together, using a fork to break the blueberries into smaller pieces. Check the consistency of your scrub when squeezed in your hand is should feel like damp sea sand. If there is too much liquid in your mix, add additional sugar. If your mix is too dry, add more oil. Mix well and refrigerate for 1 hour. Once the scrub had cooled down, remove it from the refrigerator and apply it to damped skin. Don't use too much and be sure to avoid your eyes! Scrub your face gently for approximately 30 seconds, then wash the scrub off. Use your regular cleanser followed by a light toner and enjoy!
